What's the use of sending Christmas cards?!

Question: If you're NOT going to put pics of your kids in there....I have a small beef with a friend right now, should I dump her as a friend, or write her a scathing 'how dare you' type of letter?

i put pictures of myself in them.

i send out atleast 32 , (mostly family) and yes i put a picture of my 2 beautiful kids in there.

Well my husband and I don't have any kids but I do like to see Christmas cards with kids pictures in them.

I think Christmas cards are sent out in general as a polite gesture.

The purpose of cards is just to let others know you are thinking of them. No one is obligated to include any photos or anything else.

l never send pics of my kids in christmas cards, you need to take a chill pill.

It's Christmas...chill out.....

I would write her a "thanks for sending that pic of the kids! I can't believe how much Timmy looks like the mail man". See if she gets the irony.

Just send her a Christmas card. It's a "small" beef, "right now." Don't break up the friendship.

Don't send her a scathing letter--it could end the friendship. Talk it over with someone; figure out how to word your complaint, and talk to her personally. If you're afraid the conversation will escalate, go ahead and put it in writing, but don't mail it right away. Cool off for a couple of weeks, then reread it. Have a friend read it.

Is it something you can just forgive and forget?

But the purpose of Christmas cards is to keep in touch.

just ask where the kid pics are.

but if you send me a card it had better have the thong pic asked for ;)

Scathing letter sounds best, but why not make it a phone call at 3:00am? That's even better as you can save your rage and let it really boil over. She may even call the police if you frighten her real good. Oh how exciting.

It's just the THOUGHT that counts.

Just send an email saying, "Got your card, thanks! So, how are those ugly kids?"

The message will be clear.

Not a scathing how dare you. Just a simple and polite..I think they may have fallen out when you sealed the envelope inquiry. When she claims they were not sent....then....you rip her a new one.

I agree, it's the waste of a good stamp and greeting card not to at least include a letter or picture. I get the ones that just sign their name and it's downright annoying. I think, why did they bother, especially when I haven't heard hide nor tail from them for an entire year. I could just as well check the obits to see if they died. lol
