The Phillips has twice the storage (2GB vs. 1GB).
The Insignia has a built-in FM tuner and its battery life is 3X that of the Phillips and is also rechargable (saves money from buying extra batteries).
Most people would go for more hard-drive space.

I would go with the Phillips from Walmart. It is a brand name and I think their stuff is pretty decent
The first one is a better make and has more features
Out of the two get the Phillips. Spend a bit more money and get a Creative Zen. They're quality.
