the problem is you tried to change her and you didn't love her for herself. Besides, maybe she wasn't cool and then you made her cooler and she realized she could be with someone way cooler than you.

You probably didn't have the right flavor of cream pies she preferred. It isn't you, just preferance. Find another cream pie of your own.
