I prefer black pearls, because they're like me - taking a long time to create, but rare and priceless!

i prefer diamonds over everything, but in this case, i'd say go with the pearl necklaces... they were pretty nice... =)

Duh Diamonds are a girls very best friend! I love them and get them almost every year. I am spoiled! I love them all shapes mostly round cut and princess cut though are best. I am working my way up to a two caret that would be perfect with a d color and clear
Man made diamonds, then CZs. I like natural diamonds, but its so hard to tell the difference anymore by just looking at them, I just dont see the point of buying them for everyday jewelry. Plus if you lose one its far more devastating than if you lose a CZ.

Pearls are from a father or husband.
Cubic Zirconia is what you give to a teenage girl, lie to her and tell her it's real, then if she loses it, then it's no big deal.
My sister likes to borrow my jewelry, so I took it all to a jeweler and had fakes made of each piece. Ha! She can't tell the difference. It's a damn good thing, too, because she lost one of Great Grandma's triple diamond pendant earings. If she'd lost the real ones, I would have murdered her!!! Those things are worth $5,000!!!! Ha! She felt really bad. I let her feel bad for a week. Then the earing was returned. Someone found it in the bathroom of the country club she was at wedged in the paper towel dispenser thingy. She confessed that she now remembers that she took it off for a second and FORGOT! How do you forget that you have $2500 hanging off each ear?!?! I'm so glad I had fake ones made. The real ones are safely stashed in a box at the bank.

Well that really depends on what the person you are giving it to likes/dislikes and how much money you have to spend.
I would personally say to get cubic zirconia. It LOOKS like diamonds (it has even fooled some jewlers before on news programs) and it is much cheaper than diamonds. Also, pearls are relatively expensive as well, and are a big headache to maintain properly. I have even heard that perfume ruins them...
But then again it also depends on the person you are giving it to actually appreciating the gift for what it is, or just caring if it is "real" or not... I have to say, the expression: "it's the thought that counts" is kinda wrong depending on the person... they might not appreciate getting a "fake" gift...

But out of the gems you listed,you can never go wrong with diamonds.
