Is it a smart idea to give my 2 year old "time outs"?!
Question: Yes, terrible two's can be a hard time for both you and your baby but "time out" is one good way to show that you're in control and they really hate it. But remember only for 2mins at a time, then have them apoligize and stop crying.

doesn't work with mine. I wish they would work. Now she tells us that we get "2 minutes". She lives her day in time out at school.

You can try, with their attention spams being almost zero, your 2 year old might not stand in the spot long. I usually take something away until my 2 1/2 year old son agrees to behave. It seems to work.
Here is my opinion. When you attempt to give a 2 year old a time out YOU are the one doing all the time out. She is more than likely screaming her lungs out until you give in.
Judging from the answers above me it is just MY 2 year old who doesn't really get it! So, if it works for you, do it. I don't. Anyway, how can I put her in Time Out. I just sneezed and she said, "Bless You Grandma!" :o)
my cousin is 2 years old and my aunt gives him time outs all the time and i think that its effective! but it really depends on the child!so try it an see how it works!

Sounds lke you have a brat on your hands at 2 yrs. old You should have time outs with parenting classes The terrible twos is a phase and most parents breeze thru it Never give in yo a 2 yr old or it will be the start of something you will never handle
