GOVERNMENT GRANTS.....Has anyone ever applied for one?!

Question: If so, how did you get the information.....what were the qualifications? How long did it take?

Marge, EVERY grant has different requirements. You can't use a common yardstick.

Several others have given you web sites to check - DO that.

Grants are based on specific projects and objectives. Your challenge is to be able to seriously address the project, meet the qualifications, and then ANSWER the grant request.

To do so, you should obtain the grant information and then lay out a "matrix" on paper that visually displays the needs of the grant, the qualifications, and the specific terms of the proposal you have to provide.

You can then make notes about each of these points, and if you don't meet one aspect, either find someone to get with you to do that, or find good reasons why your strengths and capabilities outweigh what you lack.

Good luck!

Just go on the FAFSA website and check it out. I'm in the process of doing that now.

No,

but if you're a single mother, you can get anything free-i.e. Welfare.

My daughter did....she is married and all she had to do is prove that there was only one income in the household. I'm sure there are other circumstances that would make someone eligible but I don't know what they are.

It didn't take her but a month or so if my memory serves me.....she just had to take a test and it all went pretty smoothly.
Hope that helps.

yes i have ha three, the first was to research if you thumb is truly the same size as your nose, the second was to back my quest for restoring breakdancing to its former glory and the one i just applied for is to make fashionable slippers out of tampons and pads
