After someone lies, how long does it take to trust them again?!

Question: They never fully regain my trust as in the back of my mind I'll be wondering if what they are telling me is the truth or just another one of their lies.

Answers: They never fully regain my trust as in the back of my mind I'll be wondering if what they are telling me is the truth or just another one of their lies.

NEVER!

when they prove they can be trusted,
which could take a long time.

I don't know
lie to me once...shame on you

lie to me twice...shame on me

it depends on how bad the lie was.

For me never. If you have lied to me once all you will get a chance to.

Its been my experience that it takes at least a year. And not only time, but effort on the part of the person who lied to show they are not interested in doing so again.

idk when ppl have lied to me i have never been able to fully trust them again.

depends who it is and what happend

never

depends what the situation is...everyone deserves a 2nd chance!

well, for me, if it was a really big lie, i never trust them again. no second chances with me.

Depends how forgiving you are.

when theyve proven themselves

Until they can prove that they're trustworthy again.

depends on you and the person you cant put a time limit on that

When they have proved they are trustworthy

Trust can take very long to build but only one moment to destroy.

How long is a peice of string???
It depends on what they have lied about, and how they went about lying. And everyone is diffrent. What I may forgive without a second thought you may not forgive so quickly.

Everyone lies. It's just to what degree (Not telling you that you look a little overweight in that dress OR sleeping with your significant other) and how often. Some people lie about some things that, in my opinion, makes them untrustworthy in my eyes from that point on -- no matter what. It really depends on the situation. You have to gauge it for yourself and determine if you are willing to risk being deceived again by this person or if they are genuinely sorry and worthy of your forgiveness.

Probably never, completely......!!!

depends on if they get away with the lie or not, if they get away with the lie then I don't know its a lie, so I would keep on trusting them.

It depends on how big the lie was they told me.

It reallly all depends on the lie. If it's about cheating on a person, then they should not be forgiven, in my head. I think that a person should get a second chance on alot of things. Peole make mistakes.

I never trust them again. Period.

it depends on the extent of the lie. from your question, it sounds kind of like a serious lie. At the end of the day, you just have to ask yourself whether you're willing to forgive and forget. You can move on with that person in your life or move on without that person. Sometimes when someone tells one little lie, you see them in a different light and it makes it even harder to trust them ever again but just ask yourself if putting yourself through that risk of being lied to again is worth it or not.

well if it something simple and something they dont want people to know...then it might take a month a most.. because i can understand.

however when someone lies OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER for no reason at all.. then i will never trust them.

When you are ready to trust them again, if you ever are. The choice is up to you.

Never completely trust anyone who has lied to you. Nor should you EVER put your complete trust in anyone!

depends on the lie and the situation that forced them to lie...
sometimes people have good intention when they lie. like trying not to hurt the person they are lieing to. if someone is being dishonest and deceitful...they have to gain trust back which can take a long time

depending on how you feel about the person then time will differ if you are in love with the person it may take longer to restore trust but if the person is a freind who is not of a close relationship it is up to you to decipher when it is the right time
to forgive.
but i believe if the person is truely sorry for there actions and promise not to do it again then water under the bridge.
