Answers: having friends you have never met? I know mine say to be cautious and end up joining. LOL

Yes I do. Most though have never even heard of Y/S and end up asking questions about it. And others just kind of look at me with this "You've got to be kidding me" look on their face. Then there are the ones that tell me to be careful. But most totally don't understand the whole concept of having friends you have never met in person. They don't realize that you can actually know more about these friends than you know about your in person friends, that you can cry when they are sad and laugh when they are happy and be really excited about the things they tell you about that are going on in their lives. I think they are missing out.

Yes.

yep and yep

I tell hubby about people on here.... he thinks it's cute....

crazy with a capitol "C" and yahoo is all mine,i dont want them on here, cheers :)

haha i don't have too many online friends...but i bet if my friends knew about it and tried it they would find out its nice to have someone else to talk to! =)

Yes.

Yeah, I told an old friend about online friends before and when our friendship ended, she called them my "invisible friends." Oh well. i know I could ring up a couple of them if I'm in REALLY big trouble....

I've met SOME of my online friends before.

nobody i know has ever heard of or tried YA

YES

Not friends...but I always quote crazy questions from here.

haha yes I do!! My friends just laugh!

Yahoowie answers suck

so i'm an idiot

i onli ever talk bout mi on-line friends with one of my rel life friends. she doesnt really think im crazy. she KNOWSA i am. hehehehe!!!

Why these are the best kind of friends to have ... They can't hit you up for $$$$$$$$.

I talk about people on here. Some are closer and better than my own family. Strangers don't understand but if they are around long they find out it is the truth!

no way!
they might think I'm crazy (which is true but it doesn't need to be reassured) that's the main reason i keep my buddies a secret

Yes! They look at me like I'm nuts!! The only 2 people that have actually signed up themselves were my friend & my man!

I have to be a little low key with my b/f.....he thinks I just answer questions....and all the people are different all the time...little does he know I answer & talk with the same ones over & over....he would not like that....but....it's my little secret...shhhhhhhh don't tell...he just doesn't understand what my fascination is with it....and I guess I'm not supposed to use people's names on here....I didnt know that....like when I say" Randy".....I guess that is a no no on yahoo answers....I just got a violation for "chatting".....bummer!!!

I've mentioned it to a few friends and they want to know what the "draw" is. I don't say much any longer about how much I enjoy my time here or the people I've met and communicate with.

Lol, yeah... My boyfriend thinks I could be talking to a computer and I would never know it....

That's bull though, the people I love on here are way too intelligent, witty and lovely to be AI...

xo

Yes. I have mentioned some of my online friends to others and they became very protective thinking I would become involved with someone online. A couple actually tried the "Yahoo experience" but weren't as impressed as I. I think they're still waiting for the "I told you so!" lol And, I'm sure I'll get it soon enough. But, they are wonderful friends and their opinions matter to me. They realize my situation and care about me so I just find it flattering. I no longer speak of anyone on here to my male friends because they just can't understand why I'm drawn to this place.

I know that I will need those people when I stop coming here and suffer withdrawals!! lol

I talk about few of them at times. Some of my friends think nothing of it, as they have their own online friends.
A while back my best friend used to tell me that it was corny and weird to have "online buddies", as he believed that it was not possible to really bond with people through the internet, but as I've told him some of the interesting, fascinating, humourous or serious conversations I've had, especially with some people here in Answers, he's changed his thought.
