A drug addict who takes odd jobs and spends all his money on drugs instead of handling the bills... Seems like he's getting something out of being with you - what are YOU getting out of being with him? Sounds like you are going to be VERY unhappy if you stay with him. Maybe it's time you have a talk with him and tell him to shape up or ship out. Give him a deadline, too. Tell him this is no way to live and he's got a month to get a steady job AND stop the drugs from now on and go to NA or you'll leave him. If you are important to him, he'll do this for the sake of your relationship....If he doesn't do it, then you'll have to have the guts to keep your word and dump him. Idle threats are useless. You have to take the initiative here if you're unhappy. He seems content to continue as he is. If he won't shape up, then YOU SHIP HIM OUT and go find a healthy relationship - there's a ton of men in this world.
