I think the best way would be to tell them exactly that! If you want to be more subtle then maybe you can do something nice for them - like take them to a favorite event (sports game, museum, concert, movie, etc.), something they really love, or buy them a gift to show them how much they mean to you. You also could just send them a card that tells them how you feel. Good luck.

Well, buddy. You've already received "a few suggestions", namely: "Tell them." So it's obvious what should be done.
My question to you is: If you honestly think that person is "the greatest person in the world", then what's stopping you from telling him/her?
I mean, there must be some underlying dilemma here. Because to my notion, it's simple to say. If you were telling someone that you were in love with, then I could understand your wanting a few suggestions. However, it's telling a person how great you think they are.
I don't know you, but it's just a matter of saying it.
