ok wow.
maybe you were blocking out the emotion b/c you couldn't let yourself feel the pain. maybe it was easier to ignore it.
but there comes a point where its not so easy to justignore that deep sadness.
it's ok to cry. i almost started crying reading the story- call me and over emotional freak of a panda.
anyway, if you want to talk about it email me. and of course i'll honor the friend.

May peace be with him. and may his loved close ones get out of the grief soon!! Its easier said than done, I know.. probably I cant even imagine what his family is going through right now and ofcourse YOU going thro all this at such a young age yourself!
But heres something based on what I read recently when someone close had expired recently.
You know - I believe it is your friend (his soul) who decided to leave his body, hence the death. One takes birth in this earth to gain certain experience. Once that is accomplished he/she decides to leave the body. Once he/she (his/her Soul) leaves the body, the body becomes nothing but matter and we burn it. The soul never dies. It is the spark of the Divine. A direct and concrete portion of The Absolute. To house that portion of the Divine, our body is formed. Body is nothing but matter. So after death the body becomes nothing but the matter. And the Soul goes back to the origin, from where it came. It takes rest - assimilates what it gathered in its lifetime. Then if it becomes necessary to have further experience, the Soul takes another birth or many births. Your friend is the Soul who does not die. Therefore your friend did not die. he is here the way he was, but in different form (subtle form). he can feel, see and experience everything, but we can not see him (because we are still in physical form). We can not see him for we have not attained the level where everything is light. Your friend is now just Light. he should enjoy his present status. None should grief. No sadness please. This attitude shall pull him down. All should give him comfort by offering him to the Divine. "Our life is a paradox with God for the key". Only the Divine, the God can act. We are nothing but his instrument. We should surrender completely to Him with a prayer - "Let Thy will be done". Surrender completely to Him. Offer your friend to Him. Let the life move on the way His will wants.
I am so sorry for your loss. We all know that death is a part of life but knowing that still doesn't lessen the pain when someone close to us is taken away. I would spend time with his sister. She will need that. And cry if you feel like crying.
