i had to read great expectations in 8th grade and frankenstein in 9th grade.
what books are you reading? i liked the books i read in school.
Your state dept.of education and local districts often require teachers to cover certain books. Many of them are classics that people have read for years.
"back in the day"? last year i had to read adventures of tom saywer(however its spelled!)...sucked.
and i'm in 8th this year
just this year i had to read
the house of the seven gables
the scarlet letter
and huckleberry finn
I also had to read the plays
crucible
and
the night thoreau spent in jail
i didn't like any one of those books...
