What do you like or dislike about Rap?!
Question: I am a Big fan of the late 90's rap 1996-1999 after that its all weak... So I dont care to much for it anymore.. These rappers today are sad and have no personality!

i use to like rap alot, now even though im only 20 i can say that a lot of it really does sound the same.

I enjoy the old school rap of the 80's right up until about 1999/2000 with few exceptions. Most of the rap put out after that era seem to be getting away from what made it's predecessors so great. Original rhymes, flow, beats, and topics.
I just like it because of the beat of it. I really like R&B because I love to dance, and its fun!!!

Yes, rap has a lot of beat...which is what I like, however, all they talk about now is women as sex object...I don't even understand how that is LEGAL!
I can't stand it when they go so fast and mumble so much that you have no idea what the hell they are saying. you feel like smacking them upside the head and say "SPEAK ENGLISH".
also, I hate it when they talk about violence. I'm not a violent person
I just hate how its B*tch this N*****that, I'm gonna hurt you, shoot you, rape you, beat you up... blahblahblah... I wish we could get some good rappers too, because it's all the same bland harmful thing.
I hate rap. When I hear it, I feel like I'm getting yelled at in a language I don't understand.
i like it then and now. its upbeat and gets you movin. sometimes the lyrics these days are dumb, especially the womanizing ones... the gangsta rap isnt all that great either because of the influence on the younger generations.
I like rap - I like the beat, the rhymes (in some), and the poetry (the way that the words are used and played). I do not like it when rappers degrade women, ethnicity, or advocate violence or gang action. Early rap was the best, definitely!!
I hate that there are no instruments. I hate that there is no singing, just talking to a rhythym. I like some clever lyrics. I hate that it influences a lot of young, underprivileged children to think that bad grammar, degrading women, solving problems with violence, and being whores are positive attributes.

I'm with you on this one big guy......I sound like Carlton. Rap now just makes me think that I can really put out an album with minimal effort and go platinum. You know what else cracks me up? Remember everyone was gettin on Ma$e and Puff excuse Diddy for dancing and shiny suits? Now everyone has a dance and the clothes are as bright as ever.

Love most rap, but hate how all freaking rap videos are the same, grills, rims, hot chicks, now look these are all things many guys can enjoy but how about some originality??? Don't just wave your bling in my face, be creative, i.e. RKelly's "in the closet" now that was funny. I agree with the lack of not so much personality but more originality, they are all the same.... I did like Kanye's Stronger video, something other than chicks, rims, and grills lol!
