Poll anyone else thinking that snow brings out the worse in a driver?!

Question: It doesn't take long for bad drivers to end up in accidents on snow and ice. Personally I see that as a good thing. Then when spring comes there's less of them on the road.

that's why I live in the south

No, I love driving sideways

yes because either people panick or they think they are gods when it comes to driving in the snow. I hate it!!!

I never drive in snow

yes and no depending if the driver is male or female. female drivers suck

OMG yes...what a nightmare it is to drive in the snow with stupid drivers!!

Along with rain, yes. People get completely freaked out in bad weather.

No. Snow brings out the worse drivers.

snow makes people drive stupid yes especially young kids who were born in the summer time and little old ladies who can't see over the wheel.

I think that people don't realize that you need to slow down and change the way you drive when it gets nasty out. Especially fot the first few storms. I live in Maine and we just got our first snow of the season (20 inches) and there have been a lot of accidents.

especially people in SUVs - what do they think they can drive on snow and ice like it's dry pavement just because it's an SUV??

It was all the snowflakes fault

It seems like SUV drivers are the worst for that kind of thing. I'll be driving along in my sedan and nearly get blown off the road when they go flying by. Semi trucks are obviously terrible too. It's icy here, but they are still going the usual speed limit, knocking all the other cars (who are driving according to conditions) off the road. It's pretty annoying!

Yes, just walking down the street I was allmost run over by some Careless motorist! I'm OK though!

I love in the Midwest and we get all sorts of weather here and it doesn't matter what the weather people drive horrid here. People just need to slow down and pay attention to what they are doing.

Yes I do that is why I avoid driving in snow!
People will just forget how to drive when they see the snow coming down and it not even sticking and their driving like old Lady's and stopping every 2 mins it sucks its those people who cause the accidents. And then there is those people who just don't care and ride your as s and start flipping you the bird just cause your not going 10 over.

Wow. a brilliant answer from the first person. Wonder how long he had to think before he came up with it? Yes. It does. But when you really think about it, it shouldn't. All you need to do is have the proper tires and just take it a little easier. That solves a good percentage of the problem.

People are ridiculously stupid but it does worsen in the bad weather.

Yes. Particularly the idiots in their 4WD SUVs that think they can go anywhere and do anything in them. I used to drive on a particular road in my '77 Mercury Comet (V8 RWD) and laugh at the idiots in their Jeeps and stuff that thought that and ended up ditching themselves.

Edit: Good point, RacerX, I had an idiot behind me this morning with no lights. Didn't even see him until I saw the glow of his brakelights.

ROFLMAO...what a great question. Sure enough, it never fails...down here in Texas we don't really get snow often, but when it does, or when the roads freeze, we just get plain STUPID!!!!

I ease up to speed, then drive relatively slow, knowing it'll take longer to stop, and that the tires could slide at the slightest steering input...unfortunately, it seems the majority of the rest of the drivers OINLY think it henders starting and stopping. I can't tell you how many times some red-neck gets up to speed, then blow by me like I'm standing still, and sure enough a few hundred yards down the highway there he is stuck off the side of the road from spinning out of control...ROFL.

What goofs!

OMG I LIVE IN FUKN ILLINOIS AND I HAVE MY WHOLE LIFE. I DRIVE A 4WHEEL/ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM DRIVING IN THE SNOW. BUT AS FOR ALL THE OTHER JACKASSES OUT THERE, I TOTALLY AGREE. ITS LIKE WE GET TWO FREAKING SNOWFLAKES THAT FALL OUT OF THE SKY AND EITHER PEOPLE ARE DRIVING MACH 10 OR 10 MPH. ITS LIKE THER IS NO SANITY. AND NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THE PEOPLE THINK WHEN THE WEATHER SAYS WE ARE GOING TO GET 3 INCHES OF SNOW ITS EQUAL TO A NUCLEAR HOLOCAUST. I TRIED TO GO TO THE GROCERY STORE LAST NIGHT FOR SUPPER AND THERE WERE NO CARTS IN THE STORE BECAUSE THATS HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE IN THERE 'STOCKING' UP ON FOOD. JEEEEEEZZZZZ I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO RELAX AND MAYBE GO BACK TO DRIVERS ED. BUT YEAH SORRY TO RANT. BUT I TOTALLY 100% AGREE WITH YOU.

For some it does.

Some drive like maniacs no matter what the weather.....I like to laugh at them when I see them trying to push their vehicle out of the snowy ditch all by themselves!

It sure does! A lot of people seem to have trouble driving on dry roads...so just think, when it snows, the roads can be slippery and snowy...and people don't know how to control their vehicles. A lot of people also don't understand the concept of driving slower when it's snowing...they think they can still drive the same speed they do when the roads are bare.

to tell the truth I have never actually driven in the snow. I have been to places where the snow has been cleared but that is about it. If it snows here I hibernate. i know there are idiots on the road and although my car is old I love it and don't want it written off or dented
