I don't think it's "wasted", I believe my knowledge was used to help someone who wanted answers. (:>
A couple of times, but for the most part no. The only times I did feel like that was when I took the time to answer their question, and some of my answers can be quite lengthy, and then they pick some lame answer - much like a quip - which is nothing more than sarcasm or a joke...when the question wasn't posed that way.
