What is one memory?!

Question: that you hold Special to your Heart from your Childhood?

My Heart is so full of them...But I have been thinking so much about mom and her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls lately. we were so poor, but never went hungry. I could walk home from school and 4-6 blocks away smell the bread!!! how about you?

I grew poor also, and my mom always managed to put food on the table for us. 25 cent Jiffy cornbread, homemade bread, etc. I guess I could say my entire childhood is a memory I hold close to my heart. It's humbled me and made me the person I am today.

When my grandmother would make her famous cornbread and you could smell it from the outside of the house and she would be at the door ready to hug us :)

I miss her :(

I hold all my memories close, i cant choose just one special one, they are all so special to me

one special memory is just spending time with my grandparents....they never judge any of the kids and their door is always open for you to come and sit down and talk....my grandmother makes the best Russian Teacakes at Christmas....used to love getting in trouble for eating tons of them right after dinner! lol

My fondest memory is when my father would put me on his feet and waltz with me. He was definitely a little girl's daddy. He made me feel like a princess.

"Shoe" skating on my great aunt and uncles pond. We were too poor for ice skates so we would "skate" around the pond on our shoes. My brother and I never knew the difference.

I have ice skated since then and I can tell you it was better with just our shoes.

When I would work with my grandpa down in his wood shop. I would make him little wood sculptures. You would think it was a boy thing but I am a girl and I would long for the days that we would go down together in his shop but the days grew fewer and then he went into the hospital and never came out. :^( He passed away 2 years ago I still go down in his wood shop but there will all ways be something missing......Him, he will all ways be missing but he has found a place in my heart and I will never let him go.
I shall all ways love my pop-pop.

mine was the year gramma got paroled, that was the same year my sis told us she was gay and my brother knocked up the dog

!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Mom's Bread Pudding....OMG it was sooooooooo good!

when my mother would cook, especially on holidays. she would create some of the most "entertaining" foods. lol. we would be playing in the front yard with the farm animals and she would call us in for dinner. then we would eat in front of the tv, lol. :)

Yes, my Mom was an excellent cook also. She made everything from scratch. We always had homemade breads on Sunday with dinner. And, she would always roll out the dough for pie crust and noodles. I just love all those smells.

i cant even think of one... it would take me to long to write it down anyway!

I live in the country. I can remember sitting on the porch with my family just talking, laughing, eating, and just being together. Haven't done that since my Madea passed. I do practice the same ritual with my husband and kids so all is not lost.

All the time I spent with my sister!!!! She is six years younger than me but she is my best friend now and it's because we have been best buds since we were little kids. I felt more like a parent at times but also I know she's one I could go to with anything NO matter what it was and she would be there to help or support me in any way!! We have so many memories together and I know we have many more to come!!

the first time that I ever went fishing I caught my first catfish and it was not small and the person that gave me the fishing rod that I caught it on I still have it to this day although he is gone I still remember that day over 30 yrs ago.

Well, I'm still pretty young so I can't answer this question. But the memory you have is really nice and I hope you can give the same feeling to your kids too (when you have them).
