Well, if I was in New York, I would hope that I get in the Cash Cab!

Tell the driver that you will gladly pay 'im tuesday for a cab ride today (unless it's tuesday)
Give him the address of two or three streets over and run for it.
take a chance and jump out about a block befor your drop off.............lol
i have never been in that situation, and do not ever plan to be, but here are a couple of possibilities:
#1: seduction, like the first person said OR
#2: promise the driver a really good piece of chocolate cake (because i would have some left over at home from the pre-bar party)
i would give the indian taxi driver my shoe maybe even a sock if it would be a lot

Just get out and run away. you think he is going to leave his car and come chase you
get him the cab driver to drop you off at a busy street and once your out make a run for it run as fast as u can

yes, i have been drunk.....left in the middle of the street at 3am or 4 am....a taxi stopped and asked if i needed a taxi. All i could say was, "I can't believe he did that". over and over again.
I told the driver, i had no money. No i don't need a taxi. But he insisted and he said, it is OK, i will take you home. By that time i figured i could not find another friend to give me a ride so i got in the taxi.
He told me it was not a nice thing to do...blah blah blah........got home and he said he would wait until i got in before he took off.........he kept his word, he did not charge me and he stayed in his cab until i opened the front door.
Maybe i cried, but i don't remember....but it was a free ride home.....
