I think I would find little humor being friends with a midget.
I have friends that are shorter than me, by a couple feet/inches, but with a midget...I don't know, never really knew a real midget.....
I would be friends with a midget. But I MIGHT feel awkward if we were watching a movie with a midget in it (Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka etc).
A coworker of mine is 4'9'. He's one of the best worker's in the place and every one wants to work with him. No one is inclined to laugh at him.

One of my fraternity brothers was a midget. He had saved his money from working as a circus clown for school. He became a good friend.

No I wouldn't laugh. I'd be friends with them if I liked them. Honestly I've never met one.
I'm friends with everyone. However, one day at the mall, there was a "little person" security guard, and my daughter yells out "LOOK MA, A BABY COP!" My husband and I had to just look at the floor and try and muffle our laughter, yet another instance of the innocence that comes from the mouths of our kids.
I've always had a fantasy about getting it on with a "small person".
