It's usually a good idea to check the condition of your body wastes for visual and odor abnormalities. That way when you go to the doctor you can tell him, "My snot has been thick and orange yellow for the last 3 days." It's sort of like checking the oil level in your car whenever you fill up with gas. You'll know early on when something isn't right and needs attending to.
