Yes, sometimes it is nice to be alone. But too much of solitude can drive you mad. An evening with friends is necessary sometimes, too.
Yes! Absolutely! I think that if you CAN'T be alone or feel the undying need to be around others ALL THE TIME, I think you have serious issues. However, being alone too much can be a problem, too, which can lead to depression and self doubt and other psychoses. It's important to not only learn how to love and live with yourself, but also interact with others. Personal space is important, even moreso in relationships...

I find time to myself necessary as a writer, but that does not necessitate liking my own company; I feel fortunate, however, that I do. The practice of spending some time alone may well have led to more comfort in that regard.
