this is true primarily because it is a right-handed world we live in. most tools and otehr things are designed for righties thus left handed people are using their less dominant hand. this can led to accidents which contributes to the higher death rate of lefties over right handed people. Also do you know that the word sinister is in reference to left handed people who were thought to be tied to the devil.
It is true, apparently it is something like 9 years as well, i am left handed and think that lefties die younger because of accidents trying to use right handed things because there arent enough left handed replacements for every day items that us lefties struggle with.

I do recall reading something about this. As a leftie, I have had to adapt to a right handed world. Especially, using a pair of scissors. But, now they have scissors that are specifically designed for lefties. Being a leftie is almost like being handicapped. There are several things that I'm unable to do because they are not leftie friendly. I think lefties may be more accident prone because many things are geared for rightie's. At least, this has been my experience and , I am definitely accident prone. To this day, the word sinnister still applies to lefties, for example; the left eye is abbreviated O.S, which means optic sinnister( quite true) Also, it has been said that left-handers are more likely to have allergies than right-handers aachooo..lol .

I am left handed and have several health problems and I am only 34 - so I believe it!!!
(I do my best to eat right and I work out a lot. I still have health problems!!)
I've heard of that, but I never learnt the reason behind it. I think it's only by a few years though.
