At first, and only on boats, and then after a couple of weeks it goes away.

I never did until one day my best friend said, "Never read a book in the car," and after that I never could. I don't get motion sickness in any other case, but apparently I'm not immune to the power of suggestion.

even when in a car going 30 mph if im looking down i get sick. i cant read a book or anything.

As a child it was awful. Outgrew it mostly, sometimes I feel a little bit woozy, chew a rolaid or something minty, clears it.
Yes, the area were I leave, there are a lot of ups,downs, sharp corners, it is like a roller coaster--which by the way makes me sick.
I have to take medication if we are going to drive south of my house.
