What happened to the minds of our youth?!

Question: Did the corruption of watching Barney and Rugrats warp their minds? Or is it the drugs? Maybe Y!A? I dunno, I am just saying, something is wrong....very wrong....

it was the rise of that purple freak, and the teletubbies

TV, Video Games, no time outside and all this computer stuff.

It's a sign of the times.

The internet and television.

Too much violence and sex everywhere they turn has warped their minds..

Ok , You know you are talking about my mind ... right ?

I wanna hear how people think of us ... Youth !

it's us being parents and the food, too many additives!!

Kids have way to much control, video games, internet access, bad media influences and not enough good ol fashioned butt spankings.

what do you mean? i don't see anything wrong with us. maybe it's just that as society has evolved, so have peoples perceptions of others.

or something like that

It is the ADULTS fault. We pampered them, spoiled them, exposed them to too much as youngster, didn't spank them enough.

parents don't control what kids watch & do so kids get messed up!

What youth are you looking at? see plenty of bright, creative young people. They're just different from our generation from being exposed to different stimuli...but I have great hopes and expectations of them!

I blame the parents for not spanking them

there are to many bad temptations that just weren't around a few decades ago
drugs, drink, TV, video games, etc

and people have alot less respect and values mind I'm only 15!!! so i guess i can't talk but i have been brought up in a pretty old fashioned kinda way so i notice that lots of people don't have the same values

It's cliche for every generation, once they become adults, to look at the youth and say "what's with these kids today?"
They're just kids, and I was quirky too when I was a kid, but who are you referring to when you say "our youth"? Is there a collective youth that belongs to everybody?

i never blame the drugs....i blame the "Man"!

I dunno - I'm 19 and I'm pretty educated. I'm in college right now studying International Business and Economics in Boston. I have an internship coming up next summer in Los Angeles and the summer after that I'll be studying abroad in Paris.
Please don't stereotype us young people.

That damn Elmo!

Poor parenting? I'm gonna get major thumbs down for this.

Yes...

The children frighten me, also...I know what you mean...it's kinda' creepy how those little ginger children sit there tapping away at their joysticks for hours at a time, when they could be outside in the fresh air and sunshine, riding around on their motorcross bikes and skateboards, and burning down all of Southern California...

Get 'em outa' the house before they "bore" everyone to death...

Sheesh!

Nothing is wrong with the youth IMO, the old generation never understands the new generation. I am 16, and i beleive that when (or if) i'm 60, i'll be equally shocked at the youth of that time.

Unless you're talking about all the gangs and stuff that roam the streets of today's cities... I don't know what to say about that, maybe they'll realise that they're never going to grow up to be anything and try to get a job or something.

I don't think it's the youth...I think adults in charge have forgotten that it's ok to say NO and "sorry you didn't win, no trophy today, kid" and "clean up your room" and "turn me in to the cops if you want, you still can't wear your "plumber crack" jeans and show your belly button for school...and on and on and on! (I love Gnarles Barkley)

It's the parents fault. My parents never saw a problem with sitting me in front of the TV to watch those pathetic shows. I use to have to beg to go outside and play and as soon as I hit 12 I was always out with friends. It wasn't the drugs or the drinking. It's not the sex or the violence. I grew up alright and my kids are on to a great start.

Well as a member of the youth Its my sole duty to blame everyone else. Then I dont have to take responsibility and get off the hook every time haha
But god I'm fucked up in the head, I think there was some brain washing along the way that could have helped out.
