What is a good dry MERLOT?!

Question: .....not necessarily to go with food (but feel free to suggest as well!)........but mostly to be enjoyed on its own.

I've noticed my wine bar is practically vacant, no wonder why I feel so good.

Church & State makes a good 2004 Merlot it nice and dry.
It's under 20$ they also make a nice Ice wine.
I don't know if you can get in Boston... its mostly sold on the west coast.. but you can go on line and get it. I'm in a wine of the month club so I can pick some nice wine at good pirces..

i could go for one, im stressed!!

Aqua Velva ?

hate Merlots. Barolo, Shiraz and Rioja are much better for dry Red.

I prefer Shiraz

Try Blackstone if you can find it. It's not very expensive.

I don't like red wine but I've heard very good things about an Aussie label called "Yellow Tail"

Inarguably, the two best U.S. merlots are Pahlmeyer or Paloma, and the best merlot anywhere is Petrus (France).

Recent Pahlmeyer Reviews:: "A mouthful of wine that packs in lots of rich, deep, plush and concentrated flavors, with tiers of currant, blackberry, raspberry and wild berry fruit. Well-integrated tannins smooth out the finish. Score:94"

"A magnificent wine, deliciously rich and concentrated, with layers of complex black cherry, berry, currant, herb, mocha and spice, with pretty oak shadings and a smooth, supple texture and remarkably elegant lift on the finish... Score 93"

Recent Paloma Review: "A magnificent Merlot, with gorgeous fruit that's ripe, rich and distinctive. The bounty of complex flavors includes enticing black cherry, currant, blackberry and spice, with a smooth chocolaty aftertaste...Score:95"

Recent Petrus Review: "Extraordinary nose of berry, chocolate and flowers. Amazing, jaw-dropping quality. Full-bodied, with supersilky, seductive tannins and a finish that lasts for minutes. Out of this world... Score: 98"

''Blossom hill'' Californian red...its a new Merlot but quite fruity with a heavy after taste

fat Bastard is a good merlot.

You might also try Liberty school Cab--$14 a bottle and tasted more like a $50 bottle.

Moshin Vineyards..Merlot!

I've been fancying the chardannay's and zinfendel's as of late. Actually the whites
mix well with fruit juices (please don't hate me for it, but some mix well with Diet Coke!)

Try a good C?tes du Rh?ne like chateauneuf du pape.
