Is it normal that my mother still calls me "long distance" to tell me !

Question: I mean, come on folks, I'm 38 years old now, have two kids on my own, but I assume, she will never stop nagging about things in my life !! Will it ever stop ??

P.S. Before you say anything, I love her dearly !!

Its her way to feel still use full still wanted still in charge.
Just make her believe you listen to her, it'll make her happy!!
No doubt you love her dearly she is adorable!

there comes a point in our lives where we have to learn how to hang up nicely

Yep. 'Fraid so! I'm 37, and I get the same thing. Perhaps it's the prerogative of a mother?

yes bring her over one day or ust talk to her peacefully about the problem

Yes, and after you get married your mother-in-law will help.

Cheers

lol yeah they say that you never stop being a mother... my dad does the same thing and it drives me up a wall... I guess you just have to read between the lines and even though its annoying she does love you!!! Maybe you should tell her how you feel if you haven't already.

it will probably not stop until one of you STOPS , permanently.

It's normal in the eyes of the mum. I left home over 20 years ago and STILL she thinks I know nothing and need her guidance.

But print your question and keep it safe, so in years to come when think of doing the same to your 2, it will act as a timely reminder, lol.

Love mine to bits too, but totally infuriates me.

Very normal. it is US who needs to be able to tactfully tell her to leave us alone.

My mother used to do that to me too. She used to come to my place and strats to told me how to clean this and that. LOL

When I was married, if I wanted to go on a pleasure trip, I drove my Mother In Law to the airport.

Take it from me that your Mom also loves you dearly and wants to be useful in whatever way. You are still a child in her eyes.
(P.S. my daughter is 30 years old and still she makes long distance calls to take advice from her Mom, as to how to prepare a dish.)
LEARN HOW TO BE TACTFUL

It probably never will but it also probably gives her life meaning and gives her something to keep her going.

Mine does the same to me...and she swears I will do it to my boys as well. It is part of the circle of life....I am 40 and I still get it more often than is needed. It just means she loves you.
Peace.
