Have you ever had a life-changing experience?!

i was always a happy go lucky person. smiling a lot , been a people person all my life..........then in march of last year everything changed. my oldest son (25 at that time) called me to drive him to the eyedoctor, because he could not see anymore. the eyedoctor send us immediately to the eye clinic, because it looked like a retina detachment. after a long and thourough examination we got the devastating news that he had a retina detachment on both eyes :-((((( we had to be the next morning at a specialists office who scheduled a surgery for the day after. the right eye was lasered and seemed to be doing alright. the left eye was operated on twice now and there is at the moment no hope for any cure. so we are just hoping the right eye keeps up that he can at least go on with his normal life.
being faced with such a crisis, i have changed a lot. the smilies are gone, and i am more happy at home than with people anymore. just have the feeling to be left alone. hopefully one day the scientist will come up with a device or they can transplant retinas. but it seems like they have a long way to go.
that taught me the lesson that your life can change any minute....and sometimes for the worst!plus i am questioning why good people get slapped in the face with something like that, while all the hoodlums out there are perfectly healthy and don't face a crisis like that???!

Yes. It completely sucked at the time, but the lessons I learned were fantastic and life changing. I cussed a few people out, but maybe I should be thanking them instead.

Yes....I underwent major surgery in September 1995 which changed my life forever...for the better, I might add!
We all have, that is what makes us who we are, I lost my husband in 93, and he was so much younger than me, and so athletic, but he died in a car accident, you never know what is going to happen to change you life
