No school runs for me...and I don't miss going out on a freezing cold morning. In my day, we were trudging out in ankle deep snow. Brrrrrrrr!

5.21pm in western oz at the moment i will be glad when the kids go to bed!
No kids so no school run
No school runs for me and there never has been. My two boys walked to school across the fields. When they went to secondary school it was an occasional lift if I was going their way. Otherwise they walked the 2 miles or got the bus. Now they are 43 and I am retired. I play golf, tennis and go walking and as they live too far away the grand children get themselves to school. Life has been great and continues to be so. In spite of the grim morning here in the North of Gloucestershire I have plenty to do and will be out cycling later. Have a great and a blessed Christmas and please try to remember what Christmas is really about.
g/day poms im off to the next village[2 miles]to get me paper nice little walk. be back at 10am.

Good point you made there. When we all get into a routine it's funny how we feel awkward with all the extra time. When in routine you work like clockwork, when that goes your body and mind go crazy with all the spare time. 22 years is a long time. I have never done school runs but like you I like routine. I guess the best way to deal with that is to find something else to fill the time like taking up a new hobby perhaps to visiting new places or generally do the things you have always wanted to do but couldn't do because of work commitments. Being busy is the best way to keep mobile and alert then again some people are glad of the extra time. Lol
