yes. If it wasn't foaming at the mouth, or trying to jump up and bite my face off. A neighbor of mine has a rotweiler that is so scary looking, but is gentle as a butterfly.

I have a Rottweiler hes friendly as long as you're female...he hates men
They scare me but I would pet them if i was assured of my safety.

it's all about how they're raised. they're not bad dogs... people make them bad...

Sure. I'd ask the owner, but never approach one that looked like a stray or that was chained up with no one around. I've known some very sweet pit bulls. It's the owner that makes a difference in the dog's temperament. There are some pit bull owners I'd never pet!
Rot, yes, i had one for 9 years and he protected me from two rob incidents. I trained him though, when he was very young so he was super loyal. If you don't, they can be viscious. I don't really know about pit bulls but one attacked my rot once and the rot kicked the the pitbull's rear.

i love rottie's they are so sweet
and my sister has had several pit's thought the years, they always think they are lap dogs when they are around her (she's 5ft barley and is 110 lbs) have the time the dogs weigh more than her but they are always so kind and gentle
just because the are a guard breed they have been given a bad reputations and are usually sweet, loyal, loving dogs
but they will protect their owner if someone is hurting them and they can do damage.
