Why don't more cartoons have christmas specials on primetime like they used !


Question: I remember a long time ago the popular cartoons all had christmas specials on primetime like mickey mouse, the snorks, the smurfs, garfield, and so on. Now its only the classics.

They were "rented out " to the cable networks channels. But also they were put out on DVDs. It's all about the money. One of my favorites is "Nester, the Long Eared Donkey" and you can't find it anywhere.

I think the networks don't make a lot of advertising revenue by showing a bunch of different specials. I'm hoping more will be shown this year as "filler programming" due to the strike.
