HELP! i'm having trouble with the neighbors hose?!

Question: i can't get it off without breaking it.i think it's cross-threaded.
i tried greasing it up but that seems to make it more slippery.
i'm getting blisters on my hands.what can i do to release the pressure?

Give it a tighter grip, then a few twists of the wrist and it should blow off in no time.

Tell him that you want to see it lubricated next time you come, as next time you may not be able to get it off so easily.

xx

use vice grips, ta da!

I'm not sure... Let the neighbors deal with it.

pliers,vise grips.

are you sucking at the end??

if its ur neighbors hose it should be ur neighbors problem, I dont actually understand ur prob

get a man friend to help you, or a pair of channel lock pliers.

Get a slip joint wrench and use it instead of your bare hands.
Maybe who ever put it on used a wrench and you'll have no chance of removing it by hand if it was put on with a wrench.

I agree with Latraile, try it out and if that dosen't help, run as hell to the nearest grocery store and bring me a Dr. Pepper, meanwhile I will stand here and watch the hose for you :)

oh my, Ive been in a similar situation. Im afraid youre just gonna have to wait for it to drain completely for it to slip off easily.

hey stormy,i'm having that same problem with my hose, can you help me out?

make sure the water is off, bend the hose with your hand to crimp it,use pliers to loosen things, use Vaseline next time to ease things off it is better to work with when water is around

You probably need to blow hot breath on the tip of the hose where the water comes out while massaging underneath the handle oh so gently....that should work!

Good luck!

everyone says to use vice grips, but i say NO.you can damage the hose that way.just grease it up and add a little heat and it should come off easy.

I know what you mean about pressure! A hose can build up a lot of pressure. I will talk you through it. Be careful not to get too close to the hose. It could blow at any moment. You might want to wear gloves, so you get a better grip. Sometimes vaseline will help, sometimes you don't need it. You might need a towel or something convenient just in case of an accidental discharge. If you have safety glasses, put them on. Now, grasp the hose with one hand and try to twist the knob slightly counterclockwise. I forgot to mention that the hose has to be turned off, otherwise turning it on only increases the pressure. Good luck, and always think safety!!

Dear Sister Stormy, I know what you mean, and you are being such a good neighbor, my neighbor lady came over to our house yesterday, and she wanted to help fix my husbands hose, she said that she noticed that his hose was quite long, and she wanted to know if she could help in any way, I told her, thank you very much, she would be a big help to me and my husband, because haven't touched his hose in years, and have no desire to! She was delighted to help, she said it wasn't to slippery at first, but the more she pulled on the hose the more slippery it got, but finally they came to the conclusion that, they would put the hose away, and try to fix it another day, when they both have time to put the hose in the right cubby hole, she said she has a hole he could use to store his hose, so everyone is happy! Sister Stormy,,,,what is happening to us? lol......Happy Thanksgiving...Pray for me,,,,I need it....lol
