Try doing it in the rain. If it's not too cold it could be fun, like when you were a kid and played with the water hose. Put on a bathing suit and get out there.
For the same reason you feel better when you go to the doctors or the tooth stops hurting when you go to the dentist...God has a macabre sense of humor.

I know its annoying, its almost as if its natures way of saying... when we asked you nicely to do you garden you wouldn't do it, you preferred to do other things. So now that you want to do something, its not going to happen and you have to play by my rules
Mother nature is softening up the soil for you...go out in the rain. It can be a joyful and refreshing experience.
