yes why not being open is not a bad thing you live and you learn.
I would try and sort it out. HR is a last resort. Luckily I have never had to go to HR.

we dont have an hr section, if we got problems, we talk 2 the boss.
check with other co-workers for a more informed answer to your isssues,they sould have all the inside gossip..
sort it out then if things can't be resolved then go to HR.
Well I usually go to who ever is over me or over the area that there is an issue with and try to fix it that way first. Then if it can't be fixed like that then go to HR.
