Unfortunately there are a lot of guys out there only too ready and willing to take advantage of trusting women. Don't think we are all like that but tread warily with any new relationship. It is not just men either; there are some females out there who can also be just as ruthless. We all have to give a new friendship time to develop before we take that step towards total trust. If you have come a cropper, don't let it taint your view of all men; just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again - as the song goes. There's a nice guy out there for you somewhere.
Well if it is before the act and you realized it, you haven't been fooled. You can only be fooled after something has happened.
Here is a simple way to avoid a majority of crap around you.
1 - make all the things around you more precious (that way you are more careful about letting others touch your things)
2 - consider the benefits and consequences of interacting with certain people (think about the people who have done wrong by you and keep an eye out for similar qualities in those you interact with)
lastly, don't lose your faith in others, it is probably the only reason why the world has not fallen into complete chaos by now
