Was "Miami Vice" The Coolest Detective Show Ever?!

Wow. I would say yes. I grew up watching it and I loved it from the police, to the criminals, the cars, the women, the amount of drugs they sold. The aura of the show was almost surreal too! Phil Collins on the soundtrack. Sonny and Tubs got all the women, lived the life, had the fattest cars. The cast was hot. Took the detective show to new heights all the other shows tried to imitate. Close seconds are The Wire, Crime story, New York Undercover, X Files, Hill Street Blues, and CSI (Vegas).
The new one that tom selleck is in..he plays andy griffith type sheriff its a good series..but theres only like four movies.i wanna say stone cold?

    It was a very good show,but my favorite detective show was Columbo.
    I don't know. Inspector Gadget is pretty far up there too.
    I think that it was one of the top five. However, for me, Law & Order (the original) is the best.

    I never got into Miami Vice. I do think it was the coolest show of it's time.

    I never had a favorite detective show back then, but now, I love Law and Order and CSI. Oh, I did like Hill Street Blues very much and sometimes I watched Cagney and Lacey.
