Man, do I remember that show. And "Bandstand" and "Soul Train". If it wasn't Dionne hosting, it was Marilyn McCool or Andy Gibb (minus the drugs) or God knows who else. With their "Solid Gold Dancers" who usually danced background for the artistes who would come and sing.
i watched that back i the 70s loved it....

Solid Gold was very entertaining to me but so ... um, insignificant. Hey you gotta luv the insipid 80s, cuz for the most part that whole decade had a lotta junky 'culture'
cats, you are bringing me BACK! I also loved "Solid Gold" and you are right, Dionne was the BEST! Well, I sort of thought the dancers were a bit cheesy but hey, it was the time period. Memories....
