you didn't use Americans and always in the same sentence. just because you put and at the beginning of the sentence doesn't make it connected to the previous one, especially since you have 2 different types of punctuation.
1. It is simply jealousy on the side of the British subjects, that Americans have the power to defend themselves with guns.
2. You can sneeze in America and loose your gun privileges for life. It happened to me.
