How come it's hot in Mexico and cold in Canada and just right in the U.S.?!

Question: It has to do with the Earth's tilt on it's axis. The equator has nothing to do with it, in that heat does not emanate from the equator; the equator just happens to be the central focal point of the earth's natural wobble toward & away from the sun. The north & south poles are the furthest points from direct sunlight.

During the summer, the sun tilts toward the tropic of cancer, and the winter it tilts toward the tropic of capricorn.

the equator

There's this thing called the Equator....

because the US is close to the equator.
it's not cold in Canada where i live

Right now it's pretty cold in Mexico.

The mexicans heat the US from below with there beans and salsa's, while the Canadians cool us from the north with there booze and bad clothes.

its because mexico and canada dont even exist to us americans...

Dakota the same thing happens here in Kentucky!!!

It's not try living in S.C. the weather changes every 30 min.

you went to public school didnt you. lol

position of the equator

You can't be that stupid.

The farther south that you go from the equator the hotter it gets and the farther North you go from the equator the colder it gets.

because mexico is nearest to the equator sooo its hottest .... USA is above so i gets slightly colder.... and canada is even more above so its much colder

Canada is farther north that's why its cold there.
Mexico is near the equator that's why its hot there.
and the US is in the middle that's why its OK here.

I would say it is because Mexico is closer to the equator than America and Canada is the farthest away from the equator.

Everyone should know it gets hotter the closer you get to the equator.

Because the farther north you go and the farther you get to the equator and close to the poles, it gets colder. This is because the sun shines on the parts near the equator the most, because earth is tilted on it's axis. Canada is near the north pole, so a lot of people think it is cold there. Mexico is down south, so it is pretty warm, and it just so happens that the US is in the perfect place where a lot of people think the temperatures are just right (though it depends on the area and the person).

Canada is the farthest NORTH of the equator, where it's colder, and the U.S. is closer (SOUTH) to the equator, and Mexico is the closest (furthest SOUTH) to the equator.
If you carry this theme, South America is the warmest of all, because it is right AT the equator.

mexico is in the tropical zone of the eath. canada is in the polar zone. USA is in the temperate zone. tropical is hot. polar well guess. and the usa is between. ya the USA is really big

it can be warm in Canada too it has its 4 seasons as well as the USA.. just right in the USA ? some areas are cold, warm, and hot in most of the USA .. I take it that you have never traveled much .. :(

Well, Senorito, try living in AZ. Today is 11-16-07, I still have my AC on. I can't wait for all day coolness and a few overcast days will be nice too.
Really though, it does have everything to do with the Earth being split at the Equator. At least before Ozone problems and global warming.

There are many reasons, but definitively the equator is the major reason. The closer you are to the poles (north pole - south pole) the colder it is, and it's pretty cold all year round, and in the equator (the caribbean, central and upper south America, Hawaii, Philippines, and so on) is pretty warm all year round, there are only 2 seasons in the equator: rainy and dry Vs. the 4 seasons you can see during the year in nirth America, northern Europe and lower South America. Take into consideration Earth Movements!

"The changing seasons are caused by the movements of the Earth. There are two important movements that effect the Earth. The first, is the rotation of the Earth around an invisible axis. It takes the Earth about 24 hours to finish one complete rotation. The second important movement that effects the Earth is its revolution around the Sun. One revolution takes 365 ? days, or one year. Acting together, these two movements create variations in temperature, weather, and in the seasons."

Because God had the foresight to predict that humanity would bugger everything up with global warming.

In fifty years, Mexico no longer exist, the US will be a desert with 350 million skeletons in it, while Canada will be a lush, green land.

We are going to screw you over SO badly. Oh, and we're going to use the CanadaArm to wreck all of your satellites.
