What do you think of snakes ?!

Question: Some people love them, some people are terrified of them. Where do you stand ?

There's a story in our local newspaper today about a nest of deadly big brown snakes that has been found an an overgrown allotment. That alottment borders onto my property. http://www.avru.org/general/general_east...

The day before yesterday the local council sent out 1 man with a lawnmower and a whipper-snipper to clear the block. He did, and now the snakes have fled. Where do you think they went ? Probably onto my property. Now I have to hire a professional snake wrangler to come in and search my property. Meantime I have to keep my animals locked up.

I called the National Parks and Wildlife people, and they said the council did the wrong thing, that the wranglers should have gone in first and caught them.

I can't believe how stupid this is. I'm not phobic, but the thought of large deadly snakes in my yard has me nervous.

Do you love snakes, or do you hate them? Are you phobic ?

Love snakes, they're such beautiful creatures. Just stay away from places they could be hiding for now.

Good luck.

Why don't you call the council and maybe see if they'll pay the bill for the snakes....seeing as it is their fault!!

p.s stuff being that one guy with the whipper snipper in the snakes yard!

give me the creeps.

Eh, I Love Snakes
Just not the BIG HUMONGO KIND! xD

I don't love them and I'm not terrified by them..I am VERY fascinated by them though, especially the constrictors.

I love snakes. I think they are absolutely adorable.
Every time I hold one, I kiss it.
They're amazing.
I don't have like a fetish or anything because it's starting to sound like I do, ahaha.
But, I just really adore the animal.

new zealand and ireland dont have snakes, i am scared of them. -

here in NZ i sleep outdoors in summer and never worry, no bears, no wild cats, no scorpions, - theres nothing to harm one ------ in the village there are bears and wolfs so i tend to carry a piece alot, its mountain country there

in my village in greece we get green snakes and they arent aggressive so its not an issue,

the ozzie ones scare the bee gees out of me, i saw a red bellied black snake in ACT and i frooze, argh

phobic - fovia (greek word) - yes im scared, in aussie i used to get my girlfriend to "check" places out when i shoot landscapes..........

my advice melt down some chinesse toyz and make a lead jumpsuit before going outside........

a

I'm terrified of snakes! yes keep an eye on your pets & phone the media

Well in Texas they put up a 30 inch wall around each den before they gas the holes (non lethal gas) which causes the snakes to come up for fresh air, then they loop the snakes and relocate them to a refuge or to several zoos or snake farms.......Personally as long as I can see them or spot them, I'm ok with them,.in fact I pick them up by hand, poisonous or not and it they are very mature and of breeding age, I usually skin them, field gut them and then clean them up and eat them, they are not poisonous 4 inches behind the back of the head.......I've killed rattlers ( a bunch) copperheads, watermoccasins, horned adders, the second longest coral snake on record (34&1/4" ), bullsnakes, garter snakes, western racers, corn snakes, watersnakes, rainbow snakes, blotched watersnakes, rat snakes, chicken snakes and just about every other kind of snake you can imagine but the biggest snake I ever caught was a 5 ft 8 inch female rattler trying to get in my back door, I killed it with the door, it's head popped off, I skinned it and from middle to middle it was 22 inches across............but I have a deep respect for snakes cuz I have seen some people I know get bit and it is as far from pretty as the moon is from earth. Hope this was helpful
