Yes. I left the keys in the ignition when I went into the bank lobby ATM. I came out and it was gone. The police found it the next day not far away.

I haven't, but my cousin's kids were in the car with their grandparents and it got carjacked, with her kids in the car and the thieves almost drove off with the kids in the backseat --- scary.
Ive had two cars stolen, the first car was a '94 LeBaron GTC - was recovered nearly 30 miles away and interrior was completely stripped. The second was a '01 Camry that we parked on the wrong side of town - never recovered.
And no, neither vehicle had any type of theft tracking system.
YES!!! This was about 13 years ago. I knew where I parked it and when I went out it was gone. I thought that my husband had taken it to work but he hadn't. I called the police and as we were walking towards where the car should have been, we saw a car with the same make with a window smashed.
Needless to say the car had never been recovered and it was even kind of raggedy too and a creepy thing is I had my work ID badge in the car so they knew what I looked like!!!!
