I had to make mine private a couple of weeks ago because of a troll, it is sad you have to do that, I got sick of violations and as you know my questions are hardly worth a violation! I dont even know how to start another account!

I am here since August and I never pass any remarks on anyone. Maybe they are not familiar with the settings or something like that.
with all the trolls they might just be avoiding them or them
or simply want privacy
I hope not I hate it when people cheat themselves and others out just because they want to be on the top
Yeah, I've always wondered why that's the case...maybe people have multiple accounts and always answer the questions from their other account....and then, the other account picks their answers as a Best answer and the chain just goes on and on...until they get caught of course!
I only have this one, and it's marked private. I do it because of trolls.
Maybe they are just nervous of getting loads of hassle.

It DOES rather look suspicious doesn't it because genuine 'first-timers' don't even usually know the points system let alone how to make their a/c private -- and before you all start, Yes, I KNOW it's all on the first page, but...... AND don't start on about "It's to avoid trolls..." - REAL newcomers wouldn't know what a troll is ! ! !
hhmmmm very sus plus heaps of new people 1 day here want to connect to me & that worries me as i dont know them & they have only aked one question & resolved it & not answered any so what do you think of that?? thats strange too & theymay have lots too
I joined about a week ago and my account is now private because as soon as I became a member here loads of people wanted to connect to me (which I did not accept) and I thought that's weird, no one knows me yet. I had only answered one question at this stage. And as I am not familiar with anything here I want to ease myself in slowly and when I feel more comfortable I might be able to relax.
i had to leave a level 7 account last week. someone was going through my old resolved questions and reporting them. (and the questions weren't worth reporting)
that account had my 1 e-mail address. i did not want to lose it because my family and friends have that address.
some say you lose everything when you get suspended, some say just Y!A. i wasn't willing to take a chance.
my profile will remain private, but at least with this new account i won't lose pictures sent to me by family if i get suspended.

when i first joined YA i kept my network private until id been on for a few days maybe they doing the same or maybe they as you say multiple accounts

Thats acctually quite a good point maybe there shy and nervouse i didnt make my profile private though when i joined but i didnt put any info on for the first couple of weeks i guess this place is more of a community than we would think. It also possible they have multiplr accounts but then how would you know from there profile
