Don't you think motorcycles are death traps?!

Question: I just wouldn't feel safe without steel surrounding my body. :)

Answers: I just wouldn't feel safe without steel surrounding my body. :)

Your question is a misnomer.

me either
ferrets rule

i would love to ride on a motorcycle just for the thrill of it

yes..my brother is in a motorcycle stunt club thing, and i fear for his life so much when i see him preforming!

somewhat. it depends on people around you and the carefulness of the rider

no they are quite safe but it depends on the driver of them

yes, i think they are..

yes
but they are fun

call it my trap...it's fine with me!

Take home message from Motorcycle Safety Course:

Ride. Die.

In two thirds of fatal crashes, the rider has done absolutely wrong.

I know of no one who has ever ridden and not been injured.

I love motorcycles. My family-in-law has a motorcycle shop. My hubby not only rides, but races motorcycles.

But I have to agree with you, they are death traps. Well, not really "traps" per se. If you crash, you just fly off.........

i like them. it's a trap if you r not careful

Where I used to live we would call people who rid motorcycles ORGAN DONORS. so yea, but I do want one.

The closest thing to a deathtrap on wheels, except my brother crashed on his Motorcycle going a buck twenty, was shirtless, had no helmet, and walked away (not really, but he was walking once he sobered up). I've also known two people who were decapitated, a third one killed, another paralyzed from the waist down, and another in a coma right now -- all from motor cycle accidents. I don't know anybody who has died in a car crash, but my mom's cousin has been a vegetable for about 15 years from one. Otherwise, that's it.

No. I started riding at the age of three. Haven't been hurt at all! I suppose that if you were a complete idiot it would be a possibility. But If you are careful, It would be very difficult. If you are worried about speed, purchase a motorcycle with adjustable throttle. That way you can only go so fast. have fun out there!

I have been riding for 30 years. I have been in some very tight situations where if I were in a car, there would have been a collision. Riding a motorcycle automatically makes you a safer driver. You need to be. You are constantly checking your mirrors, what other cars are going to do, and have a much better situational awarness than inside a car listening to your favorite music at full volume. Yes, motorcycle accidents happen. A lot of the time it's some guy on a bike rocket thinking he is Evel Knievel. But overall, there is much carnage on the nation's highways with automobiles. Driving a car is one of the most dangerous things we all do as far as risk-taking goes.

I also am a hang glider pilot. I suppose you think hang gliders are death traps too. Well, they can be, but not if you fly within your envelope and don't take stupid risks.

You know what they say...

If the Devil was to open a retail shop he would open a motorcycle store.

Not so much the Motorcycle...but it's the Rider that can often be the hazard... like everything out there you get your "Crazies"...

I love motorcycles. Yes, they can be dangerous, but then again, so can automobiles. You just need to be extra careful on them.

No more than these other vehicles on the road.

No I love to ride on the back of the harley with my hubby. I'm just sad that he will be at " The Love Ride" on Sunday and I will be going to work : (

Yes motorcycles can be very dangerous but I have seen vehicles direct their hate for motorcycles and endangering the rider by aiming their car at them or trying to run them off the road. I have also seen cyclists abuse their position on the road and anger other vehicles. I think both sides can back off and both are to blame.
