Why does my cat always turn twice when settling down on my lap ?!

Question: is it because one good turn deserves another?

Answers: is it because one good turn deserves another?

My cat turns three times. Right now I can only type with one hand because my other arm is being used as a pillow.

Yes, perhaps your cat is smart enough to know our idioms! It's a trip--I've noticed that in dogs too, but not nearly as much as in cats.

my dog goes in circles three times before settling anywhere.

To give you an opportunity to sniff its butt. :-)

Wants to make certain everything is alright with you before attempting to settle down.

because she/he needs to find the perfect spot before laying down

He has what is known as "feline obsessive compulsive disorder"

making sure he/she is going to be comfortable

humm can your cat speak ...like the puss in boots?
it could be helpfull?

The rotation of the earth winds them up, they are just unwinding. If you add up the total number of times the turn around in one year it'll be pretty close to 365.

there getting comfortable. My dog does the same thing everyday in the same spot on the sofa or near the recliner .I guess they just trying to fine that smooth spot they had the day before. Its the same with us humans once we get in the bed we toss and turn til we find that dent in the mattress or pillow that is the most comfortable and then we doze off too dream land.

yA, He forgot he turned the first time

You don't know!?!

Lap inspections require AT LEAST two revolutions!!!

It's all down in black and white in the Dog/Cat Rules of Conduct Manual.

Duh!

I heard that Wild Dogs do this to flat in the ground when about to go to sleep. I think the same with wild cats do it for the same reason. So it's just their natural instinct
