Am I an adult?!

Question: Do you consider this an adult?
I live with a friend in an apartment, I pay my own rent, but my mom sometimes helps me with utilities, I pay my own car insurance but my mom pays my cell phone sometimes, I paid for my car myself, I buy all of my own groceries, gas, clothing, any other expenses. I don't go to school and I work as a secretary from 9-5. I also go to a lot of concerts and spend a lot of my money on that and going out...

Am I an "adult"? I don't wanna grow up :(

you're a legal adult from when you're eighteen isn't that right ? So you've been an official adult for 3 years but that doesn't mean you have to act like one ! :)

i guess so

yes you are : )

don`t worry, you have more growing to do!!

You're a young adult.

Yeah, you're an adult but you don't know how to manage your money. I mean, save the money on concerts and pay your own cell phone and utilities. This will get you all the way out from under the parents.

Yes you are, and sound very responsible. You're young and want to have fun, nothing wrong with that. I'm 27, and I also want to enjoy my youth!! HAVE FUN!!!!!

sounds like an adult, but that doesn't mean you have to grow up, just keep being responsible and have fun doing it.

When you've lived steadily for some time with no financial assistance at all from anyone (even if you are on hard times - as an adult you have to learn how to deal with that yourself without depending on someone elses income)
Then you're an adult.
You can be an adult and go to concerts and enjoy your friends, etc...that doesn't mean you're not grown up - that means you love life. But you have to be totally responsible for yourself financially and in every other way as well. No help from mom for the utilities...if you don't have money for the utilities - then no spending money or going to concerts - might even have to get a second job until you're on your feet. My son and daugher-n-law are both in there 20s and both go to school and work two jobs to make ends meet...but they do it. I'm very proud of them. I moved out at 17 and never borrowed a dime - it was rough and hard at times but I grew up fast.

You may be doing adult things...but no, you're not an adult yet.

You can only call yourself an adult if you can support yourself exclusively, if you are still under your parents assistance than they still have financial power over you, becoming truly independent will assure your rise to adulthood. But if you don't want to grow up, than keep on getting help from Mom and Dad.

You are a adult that needs to set your priorities straight and pay for all your own expenses.

I do not know the biological and legal definitions where you fit in - but having asked a question like this, you have a long way to go before you become an adult.

A person is mature when he stops acting mature and is bold enough to be his normal self. An adult does not bother whether he/she is an adult or not - and Adulthood is not conferred by a majority vote.

Well,i guess you're an adult since you are already 21.You seem like a really independant person who rarely needs constant guidence;but just because you are all grown up it doesn't mean that you shouldn't do some stuff which you might have enjoyed doing in the past.Being an adult might be a little scarry as it seems to mean that one can no longer rely on others once you have reached adulthood.So...Just do as you please and stay happy because after all, life is short.
