When a home has been the scene of a murder what is the process as far as the hou!

Question: Hmm..how do you mean? Chain of custody, securing and processing of the crime scene, possession and ownership, taxation......

Well, here is how it would generally go.

First, the house is secured by authorities until the crime scene is processed. This could last days, weeks, months, years.

Second, it is either repossed by the owner if rented or placed into estate of the deceased and at which time an executor is established (usually a relative). This person sees to the affairs of the dead by awarding it someone or themselves and that person will either take over payments of the property, sale the property, or take ownership of the property if it is paid in full either previously or through insurance or by they're own funds.

Third, taxes and titles are transfered between the estate of the dead to the person taking possession for any of the purposes listed.

Lastly, the new owner must pay all outstanding taxes for the property.
