Why is it people star questions but do not always answer them?!

either it was a good question or they were my contact but i have no answer to the question.

Sometimes people star questions they don't answer because they want to find out what the answer is after more people answer. It's easier to be able to have it as a link on your star list than look it up on Y!A.
Maybe they like your question but don't have the answer.

I do that if I find the question interesting but I really don't have an answer for it because maybe I've never been in the position before.e.g How did you feel when your mom/dad died?Both of my parents are alive so I can't answer that.
i do it if i don't really know the answer but i think it's a cool question.like if someone puts a joke,i don't see the point in answering and just saying 'lol',so i give it a star.
when i surf my contacts Qs i'm likely to star them even if i have no answer.
they're friends and it costs me nothing to honor them.
I'm guilty of doing that. I usually do it if I'm too lazy to answer the question, but I want to come back later and answer it.
