Can a dog shoot a hunter?!

Question: DES MOINES, Iowa - A hunter is recovering after he was shot in the leg at close range by his dog, who stepped on his shotgun and tripped the trigger, an official said Tuesday.

James Harris, 37, of Tama, was hit in the calf Saturday, the opening day of pheasant season, said Alan Foster, a spokesman with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

“He had surgery and is doing pretty well,” he said. “He took between 100-120 pellets in about a 4-inch circle to his calf.”

Isn't that something?

Good thing he was only wounded. What was he thinking, leaving the gun lying around instead of holding it in his hands? DOH! Maybe the dog didn't like the brand of dog food he was getting. Woof! woof, woof!

Apparently, they can.

If the dog is a super genius UNLIKE Lexing/Dexing.

well i guess they can

100-120 pellets what haha?

Why are these dogs shooting people? Are they taking after vice president Chaney?

that is soooooooo fitting. i love it!

And, of course, the dog is claiming the whole thing was an accident, right....? }:>

Whether the dog shot the hunter or not . . I AM GLAD HE DID!
I hate people who go out withe their guns, medieval crossbows and shoot other creatures, just for the "sport" of it!
I saw, altogether by coincidence, a program on the telly about a hunter who kills as a sportsman, shoot a wild turkey, blowing it to Kingdom Come, and yet the bird was struggling to get on his feet with extreme difficulty, several times, before he finally fell on hie face and died.
If I had been the dog, tripping on the trigger by coincidence, I would have made certain. I would have "accidentally"SHOT about 3 and a half feet higher and right up front and centre, and up close and PERSONAL if you get my drift. But, hey a 4 inch circle on the hunter's ankle is not a bad start. I'll pay to send that mutt to a shooting gallery!!! Oh you JUST bet'cha!

I thought this sort of thing only happened in Wisconsin? LOL
