30. The Omen (1976)
“The original Omen is the scariest movie, because it was plausible—maybe there is a devil’s son.”

“I loved Rosemary’s Baby, but I’m gonna have to go with The Omen. When I saw it, I was really young, and it scared the crap out of me. It spooked me good.”

29. Gremlins
“Gremlins. I’ve never watched anything scarier than that. It scared the heck out of me, and from then on, I said, ‘I’m not doing any scary movies.’”

28. The Blair Witch Project
. It was intense. I was so far back in my seat that I had neck cramps! All of that buildup with nothing happening was terrifying.”

27. House on Haunted Hill (1959)
“As a kid, I thought House on Haunted Hill was the scariest movie. The camerawork would misdirect you, and that made it scarier.”

26. 28 Days Later
“28 Days Later is modern terror. There’s something very probable and real to it. It’s like extreme rabies.”

25. The Amityville Horror (1979)
“Only on Long Island can you murder your entire family and say ‘The house made me do it.’”

24. The Grudge
“The noises and the images were freaky, and it was suspenseful, too.”

23. Helter Skelter
“When I was 12, my parents went away for the weekend and let me stay home by myself. I spent the entire night with the covers pulled up to my chin, waiting for some hippie to jump out of the shadows and slash my throat.”

22. The Sixth Sense
“When the little girl comes out from under the bed… Forget it! Or when he goes in the kitchen thinking it’s his mother, and she turns around and it’s not his mom… Those scenes were creepy as hell.”

21. Poltergeist

20. Don’t Look Now
“Have you ever seen that movie? It’s a creepy one. There’s a weird ghost of a little kid in a red raincoat running around, and it’s got a weird ending. There’s a blind woman in it who’s just creepy. It’s very good. It was directed by Nicolas Roeg. It’s so psychologically twisted. It’s a brilliant film. It will disturb you long beyond the two hours you spend with it.”

19. Children of the Corn
"Need I say more"

18. Jacob’s Ladder
“A hospital cart rolling over bloody body parts, a nurse with a hidden horn, a car full of faceless men running you off the road—this movie scared me because it’s all based in reality. It doesn’t label itself as horror, but it’s the real thing.”

17. Friday the 13th
“It was great. You didn’t know what was coming until it hit you.”

16. Sleepaway Camp
“I love the Sleepaway Camp series. Those are the campiest, most awful scary movies.

15. The Evil Dead
“The Evil Dead has some of the best camerawork ever.”
14. Night of the Living Dead
“When the evil reality intrudes, suddenly you’re in a nightmare that is beyond your control. The thing we most fear is having our universe be out of control, and this movie defies our expectations. You don’t leave the theater feeling safe."

13. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
“Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, with Michael Rooker. Very frightening.”

12. Child’s Play
“I would go to bed and put all my dolls away because I thought, If he moves, all my baby dolls could move.”

11. The Haunting (1963)
“That movie scared the bejesus out of me. I watched it when I wasn’t supposed to, by myself, when I was 10. Sound was part of the terror. It was a great scary movie. I’m a huge fan of horror movies. Not the bloody, gross-out ones; I like the ones with a plot.”

10. Alien

9. Planet of the Apes (1968)

8. Candyman
“I love Freddy movies, but one of my favorite scary movies is Candyman. A lot of people forget about that movie. I remember seeing it with my friends, and I was freaked out. I couldn’t step in front of a mirror.”

7. Psycho (1960)
“I was only 12, and I had to pee 40 times. That was very scary.”

6. A Nightmare on Elm Street
“The first Nightmare on Elm Street. I saw it with a bunch of girls who were screaming at the top of their lungs at everything.”

5. Jaws

4. Halloween
“I love how real it was. A psychopath escapes from an institution and kills people. That happens!”

3. The Shining
“The Shining, because I think everybody, at some point in their life, is really scared of their dad.”

2. Rosemary’s Baby
“The scariest movie, and the best movie I think I’ve ever seen, is Rosemary’s Baby. It’s all about the power of suggestion. You actually see very, very little in that movie, but it’s executed brilliantly.”

1. The Exorcist
“The scariest movie I ever saw was The Exorcist, because it was unrelenting. They made it seem like it was absolute reality. There was a numbness to how I felt when I watched it. And I was a little kid, too. I think that helps—when you’re
young and a movie gets inside your head.”

Here is a list of the top 30 scariest movies, and some little tidbits about most of them, Have fun and don't pee your pants lol

Bambi

the Exorsist freeeeeeeked me out!!!!!

dawn of the dead...we're watching it right now....

Night of the living dead

Urban Legend

Halloween (original)

Thirteen Ghost!

Easily for me "Psycho".

the grudge original

The Eye.

The Descent ((Its about these people who go into this cave but its SCARY!!!))

Nightmare At Elm Street

By far it has been 28 days later. I dont know if is an original or not. Its about a disease that turns people into zombies. I know it sounds stupid but its really good. Its one of those "could this really happen" type movies.

i have never seen a movie that was scary enough to actually scare me. if i were to write a movie, it would be the scariest one of all time.

the hell raiser films

It's a tossup between:
1. An Inconvenient Truth
2. Jesus Camp

PET CEMETERY

Exorcist and Panic room... Have fun!! : )

Amityville horror.

Cannibal Holocaust....by far
Fraility creeped me out too, but most people didn't find it that eerie.

when a stranger calls

omg i like almost peed my pant watching it

The amityville horror. It's not so scary until you actually think about how it's real.

White Noise scared the sh** out of me!!! Also The Exorcist...

exorcism of emily rose - the title explains itself..
an american haunting - a girl made another her because of the anger inside her
and
THE RING! 0,1,2 RING the best forever

The Exorcist (the original from the '70s) and The Shining. People may not think they are not so scary because they are not gory, but possession is scary! The Exorcist was based on a true story, and Stephen King got his inspiration for The Shining by staying at a haunted hotel. Try the newer release of The Exorcist, I think it's the director's cut. It's got some new scenes that are pretty freaky.

The Exorcist is by far THEE scariest movie every created! Hellraiser movies are also pretty scary, cheesy as they are. 28 Days is pretty scary too.

Mulan

Fried Green Tomatoes. That one gets me everytime.

BARNIE!!!!It is the scariest movie i have even seen!!!
