Live a little, give a little
Yes, I would invest it and retire, and give away a good share to the less fortunate.
I would buy everything i EVER wanted and give a lot away to people who need it. BUT! Directly to them, NOT to some charity who may get it lost in the system.

As we are already retired, we could use it. Our pension stinks.
We would pay off whatever debts we have, give a million each
to our 3 sons, funds set up for the grandkids, pay off our church
mortgage, have the elevator put into the church, have a long needed holiday. The last one was 1990. Cruise here we come--
Alaska, Panama Canal --yeah!!
We would also find a nice, well kept condo, 3 BR, etc. near where our kids live. It would be peace of mind for all of us.

retire for a year or 2, travel, and then start up a business or two.
pay off my credit cards and my car and buy a nice house :)
I would put the majority of it in savings and also some in interest bearing account. Next, I would pay off all of our bills, then my parents, buy my parents a brand new house and car and money so they will live in great comfort in their elderly years! Next, my husband and I will just be travelers. We will travel the world. Later, we will finish university and obtain our doctorates.
first i would seek the advice wisdom and knowledge of the Lord, then use the $ in the most responsible way i can.
there is just so many things to do with that kind of money.
first and foremost, i can pay off my house loan,
give some to my parents and charity,
invest a little,
change a new car
quit my lousy job
change a new wardrobe
save
Just laugh in the face of the lenders who think they own my a##, get a home base in town and a country hideaway, give those who matter the most to me the opportunity to do what they love, buy a gorgeous big sailboat, cut loose and chase down my dreams! (one of which is finding ways to help others do the same)
