Who feels education is overated?!

Question: after you get your degree, it's just a piece of paper. without experience or knowledge in what you want to do, you still can't find a job.

don't just go to school and cheat your way to get a good grade. just learn your stuff. with or without school. and get paid

who agree and who disagree?

I agree!!

There are alot of places that even though you have a degree they want you to have over 3 to 5yrs experience it that field before they will even consider hiring you. Unless you luck out or know someone who is willing to give to you chance your odds are slim unless its a degree in something no one wants to do or does not pay good.

For me it was well worth it. I am an Registered Architect that could never do what I do without it.

me!
in elementary school they say their preparing u for middle school
in middle school their preparing you for high school
in highschool there preparing u for college
in college their preparing u for work
aghhhh cant we just live in the now :)

NEVER!!! Education opens doors here and in China!! get a degree fast!

I've learned more stuff outside of school, in the real world, than in school. I don't see how knowing things like the Periodic Table will ever help me get a job in life.........

Yes, education is overated.

Why?

Well, not to sound rude, but look at whose running the country and compare this to some of the smartest people you'll ever know who can't make ends meet.

I agree. I got a degree in music (and I use it), but what pays the bills is electronics; I'm self-taught in that area. The degree doesn't allow me to eat, but getting it taught me to question, think, and ask. Way more valuable tools than the degree itself.

Some places will never hire you, no matter how skilled you are in a job unless you have a HSD and a degree. So no education isn't overrated, if anything underrated.
