No they don't. I lived on a farm and my Bani Rooster kept going after the White Silky hen.
it is a proverb implying that persons of same likes and dislikes mix up and act together. birds of the same feathers flock together is correct. it is also correct that birds of the same feather are similar ( not same or identical)
